This blog post was inspired by the 7-day self-care challenge I had posted specifically Day 7 of 7: the vision board 7-day self-care challenge: Day 7 of 7 it was a hit! I got so many responses and positive feedback on it.
A vision board is a board that serves as an inspiration for the life you want. It is very practical because you put your goals on to paper and you also get the chance to look at them as often as you want. It is an opportunity to finally put your dreams onto paper. A vision board also serves as an inspiration to use the law of attraction to achieve your goals, it helps maintain and clarify certain goals. Sometimes it makes your dreams feel closer than before.
For me my vision board serves as an inspiration for the life I dream of. It is my ultimate dream board.
I thought it would be a great idea to have a little D.I.Y on the blog, this way we learn to be creative and live outside of the box and finally allow our imagination to run wild.
What you will need:
Old magazines /newspapers
Pair of scissors
How you will do it:
You need to set the mood, be really relaxed. Turn off the tv, play your favorite music and clear the space.
You need to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve, that way when you come across something similar or close to what you want, you cut it out neatly and paste it. Your pasting doesn’t necessarily have to be in any particular order, or way you can freestyle with it however you want. That’s the thing about a vision board, it has no rules.
My vision board helps me believe that my dreams are attainable, every time I have a look at them they look as if they are closer than before. It helps me feel motivated at times when I feel uncertain about my path. I get all my energy from it, it pushes me to work hard and definitely, drives my focus. It serves as a daily reminder of the life I want.
It took me close to 3 weeks to put in every little detail that you see on this vision board. Making sure everything I could ever dream of had a perfect fit on the board.
You have to be really passionate and determined to do your vision board. The best way to make one is to not have a deadline. That way you don’t work under pressure instead you have enough time to think through everything that represents you and those you’d like to achieve.
When creating a vision board you should place it in a space where you see it often, you essentially end up doing a short visualization throughout the day. It should not only focus on what you want to achieve but also focus on how you want to feel.
Visualization is the most powerful force. A force of the law of attraction.
If you didn’t have a vision board before I hope this post inspires you to get started on yours.
