Why you need to start exfoliating your skin
I’m sure exfoliating is not foreign to most of us. It is the deep cleansing of our skin, removing deep skin cells and leaving our face feeling clean and fresh.

Exfoliating has been my favourite skincare step for years now. I have noticed how my skin reacts when I exfoliate and how it looks when I skip exfoliating. There is a huge difference.
When I exfoliate I have a minimal breakout, almost zero appearance of blackheads and pimples. I exfoliate once a week for a good 5 minutes if my pimples are not that much and at least twice when my face has a mini breakout. When I don’t exfoliate my skin breaks out especially on my forehead and on my cheeks.

I use the exfoliating brush from Clicks, I bought it a few years ago and it’s a game-changer for my skincare routine. One of the best buys of my life. Here is a review on the exfoliating brush:
Aside from clearing away dry and dead skin, a regular exfoliation habit increases the skin’s radiance, clarity, and youthfulness, and that’s just the start. Exfoliating has so many benefits, here are a few:
It Stimulates Collagen Synthesis
Regular exfoliation helps to stimulate collagen synthesis to improve the skin’s texture, integrity, and keep the skin looking plump, tight, and young. In this way, exfoliating actually offers anti-ageing benefits.
It Evens Skin Tone
People with dark spots, rough texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars know how frustrating they can be to treat. I’m right there with you. I have a cluster of old acne scars lining my cheeks that took months of exfoliation and patience to remove.
It Helps Other Skincare Products Penetrate Deeper
Since pores are unclogged and the surface of the skin is smoothed and rid of any dead or dry skin, your other skincare products are able to penetrate more deeply.
It Prevents Acne
Just like how unclogging your pores prevents whiteheads and blackheads, it also prevents other blemishes—namely acne.
Remember a good facial brush or a facial scrub are essential for healthy, radiant skin.

Great post! It’s so important to exfoliate and I can definitely be better at doing it more regularly.
