Sorbet Bare-Faced Foundation: Review

This is my second foundation review. I have been experimenting with makeup for the past two years where I fully invested in makeup basics. I can proudly say I know how to beat my face for the gods.

Flatlay of the Bare-Faced Foundation

I bought the Sorbet Bare-Faced foundation last year around September /October. Clicks had a beauty sale on almost all brands. I was in search of a new foundation and I opted for this one – the price influenced my purchase. It was sold for R130 (usually retails for 260). The Sorbet section at the local Clicks near my house was fairly new and I would always try out some products every time I passed by. The sale was my opportunity to finally get something from Sorbet.

The foundation is known as one of the high-end foundations you can find. The price too is quite reasonable considering the price of other good quality foundations. The formula is also good, lightweight and oil-free. Listen you don’t feel cakey after a few hours of application.

This is the product description according to the Clicks website:

Bare-Faced Liquid Foundation with Vitamins A, C & E, SPF6. Barely there! Look like a bare-faced beauty with this mineralised satin foundation that gives you all the coverage you need without weighing you down. Glides effortlessly onto skin to create instant perfection and control shine all day long.

I bought the foundation in the shade ’Cocoa’. The foundation is true to my complexion. I went in for a foundation swatch assisted by the Sorbet assistants at the local Clicks and they made the experience worthwhile. Before my big purchase, I swatched 3 foundations before finding my perfect match. The Sorbet assistant was very kind and helpful.

The foundation is medium to full coverage. It is very soft on the skin and leaves a dewy, velvety finish. It is found in 30ml.

I love how I don’t have to build on the product for the perfect finish. Just two pumps are enough to cover my face and neck after properly shaking the bottle (sometimes I forget to do this). I have worn the foundation for both day and night events and it does not look ashy at all. Sometimes you can’t even tell if I have a foundation on. I love it!

’Cocoa’ is the darkest shade they have, unfortunately, it would be amazing if they would add more shades to the collection.

All in all, I’d definitely buy this foundation again.

Just a young lady with big dreams. Love all things ART - writing, photography, painting, conversations and wine

First of all, we love beauty without cruelty !
& I absolutely love Sorbet’s beauty range. I will have to try this foundation because I love a dewy finish rather than a matte finish ! Great review !
