The importance of planning in our lives
There is a popular saying that goes ”failing to plan is a plan to fail”. When you go about your everyday life with no plan of action you deviate from your life goals. The importance of planning cannot be overemphasized for an organization or even for an individual. From the start of a small business to managing a large business, from starting your own career to the last stages of your working life, planning will be the most important tool that you use in your life. Planning doesn’t have to be anything hectic. You can start off by writing down your yearly goals, break them down to your quarterly goals,…

Autumn/Winter outfits inspired by 2020 Pantone Winter colours
I thought it would be really cool to create an Autumn /Winter 2020 style guide inspired by the Pantone colours of the season. This way we all know where to start when we go shop for our Autumn clothes. Disclaimer: This style guide was shot in the comfort of my home. (of course, it was). I’m learning how to take my own pictures using a Bluetooth tripod bought from AliExpress a while ago. Here’s a link on how to navigate your way through Aliexpress and a review of some products I bought: https://africansoulgoddess.co.za/blog/2019/02/02/aliexpress-haul/ A COUPON for an even better shopping experience on AliExpress: COUPON It’s funny how this idea came…

Easy way to make your own face mask: Global Pandemic
One month into South Africa’s lockdown. The lockdown was announced to be for 21 days and unfortunately, it was extended for two more weeks . Today is officially day 31/35 and I learned how to make my own reusable mask. My mom resorted to making cloth face masks after a visit to the local pharmacy which was our last hope to finding masks unfortunately, they were sold out and instead of doing the runaround local stores searching for masks, she resorted to making masks for the family. What mama used: Cloth T-shirt Scissors Needle Cotton thread Paper to cut out the pattern Using a cloth face covering when you’re around…

The surprising way a millennial cut sugar from their diet
2 years since I cut sugar from my diet. Honestly, it has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I obviously cut it out for health reasons because I have a bile problem. In the process, I found out that my acid (gastric acid) level was not making it any easier for me. Life changing. My lips would remain dry even after moisturizing them with a generous amount of lip balm. Having a huge appetite was not ideal as every two hours or so I’d fall hungry even after stuffing myself just a minute ago. My digestive system was a mess. I used to easily…

Day 7 of 21 South Africa lock-down: Global Pandemic
With the global pandemic going on, South Africa announced a 21 day lock-down on Monday, 23rd March 2020 ,effective from Thursday midnight, 26th March 2020. COVID-19 is a real thing. I was very panicked by the announcement of the global pandemic. Some South African citizens who were based in China were quarantined at a local hotel around Polokwane, Limpopo, I live in Polokwane, you can understand my frustrations at the time. This was before it was announced that the people set to be quarantined tested negative for COVID-19. I remember I made a huge fuss about this, as this was too close to home. It gave me a lot of…

We have a new home!
Hello loves! I haven’t posted on my blog in a while because I have been working and improving my new site. I wanted my website to feel more like home. A different look, but with the best quality of content and the same amazing feel. I had envisioned what I wanted the experience to be like for you and honestly I couldn’t pick between modern, aesthetic and even minimal. This new site is a combination of each. I gave my everything into investing and designing this site. From working late nights trying to build the site, to days were I learnt how to code (YouTube), to the countless days I spent…
